At the start of this year when I got back to NYC I decided I was going to be on the hunt for the best Bloody Mary’s in the world. It even dictated part of the trip to Iceland that my mother and brother took me on.
Well, by shear luck I picked Mother‘s Ruin for a weekend brunch date a week ago; and not only was the Bloody Mary the best I’ve had in NYC all year, but I was also amazed at how good looking and delicious the burger was and how terrific the bay seasoned waffle fries were, along with the homemade subtly spiced ketchup.
So the next time you’re meeting up with a good friend or going on a date and are in the mood for any of the above (or a mimosa like my date was), I do highly recommend Mother’s Ruin at 18 Spring Street.
I don’t believe you will at all be disappointed. Just be warned it is crowded and boisterous (ie very popular) inside, but if you dress right, you can enjoy the outside seating.
