“You can’t have your cake and eat it too.”
And Luke 6:31: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
…..These are some of the most important teachings that have been passed down from generation to generation that tend to influence my daily way of thinking and outlook on life.
As well as this one from Mother Teresa, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.”
I especially think the Mother Teresa one is of utmost importance, especially right now. And it is the kind of quote I would spread around the world on stickers and key chains and billboards if I could…..with hope that maybe there’s still a small sliver of hope that we viral humans are not going to totally destroy in a blink of a second what took eons to create.
Ironically, I titled this entry “Use it Or Lose It” because when it comes to our wonderful natural resources and our planet we are down right misusing and abusing just about everything. …..You of course are hopefully smart enough to realize and know that I implied the notion that what you have learned or the talents and skills you have cultivated must be “used” or you will eventually “lose it” and have to rebuild your brain cells and motor skills almost from ground zero. …..and so it’s important to teach one’s kids over and over again “use it or lose it” so that they understand the importance and value of practice and maintaining such things as their musical, artistic, and foreign language skills as well as their math and science knowledge.
I also titled this entry “Use It Or Lose It” not just because I very much care about that quote and teachhig, but because I have not been using this website which costs my family and me significant money every month and year just to maintain (because I have been too afraid to let it go and because I had hope that somehow it would still help me to keep moving forward in life…and that the “short term” costs and expenses would out weight the long term benefits and gains.
Last but not least, my other favorite all time quote or saying is probably “All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.”
Have a wonderful Day.
