3 Winter Pieces Teresa Can’t Live Without

3 Winter Pieces Teresa Can’t Live Without

Today feels like the first real sign that the winter 2015 forecast might be crazy cold.

So what are the 3 items that Teresa the founder of Amé Amé must have during the winter.

1)  A trapper hat

She particulary loves the Barbour trapper hats and for those who value how insulating fur can be, Mad Bomber hats.

While you might at first feel like you look like a deer hunter while wearing one of these the truth is no other hat keeps your ears, cheeks, and neck as warm, which is where you lose a lot of heat otherwise.  Ok, maybe a balaclava does better as doing such, but a balaclava definitely isn’t city stylish appropriate.

And truthfully we think everybody looks super adorable in a trapper hat.  It kind of brings out the inner child look in all of us (at least when you smile.)

3) scarves

For our gender netural scarves we carry lambs wool scraves that are made in Scotland and by one of Scotland’s finest weavers – Begg & Co.  As well as different styles of alpaca scarves that are all made in fair trade South American faciliites.

But if you’re a woman, Teresa highly recommends you have one of our Faux Fur Assymetrical scarves that are made in England.  Not only do they look like real fur, but they look fabulous when worn indoors as an accessorie that also keeps you warm.   As we say time and time again, it’s your chest area that’s really important to keep warm.  So with one of these scarves you probably don’t even need to wear a cardigan or sweater when indo0rs.

4)  Quilted Vest

Just to make it really clear – really focus on keeping your neck, chest and torso warm.  If you wear a quilted vest as a layering piece under your jacket, you don’t have to worry so much about bulking up with a think sweater which can make your arms feel tight in well fitted jacket.

We carry Barbour’s zip-in-liners because they add warmth to our classic Barbour Ashby’s and Beadnells, but also look stylish on their own.
